Jupiter

Jupiter on November 28, 1999

This is a composite CCD image of Jupiter. This is my first attempt at doing planetary CCD imaging, and the first CCD images that I took with my Mewlon 210 Dall-Kirkham telescope.

This image is a composite of three CCD images through a red filter, three CCD images through a green filter, and three CCD images through a blue filter. The red and green exposures were 0.1 second each, and the blue exposures were each 0.2 seconds. These images were taken with an 8-inch Takahashi Mewlon 210 Dall-Kirkham scope at prime focus, carried on a Takahashi NJP mount. The images were processed with MaxIm DL (unsharp mask only). The images were taken from my backyard in Scottsdale, Arizona.
