This image shows the Sun on May 20, 2012, before the beginning of an annular eclipse. Several groups of sunspots were visible on the face of the Sun before the annular eclipse.
This image was taken with a Takahashi FS-78 refractor mounted on a modified Takahashi EM-10 mount using a Cannon EOS Digital Rebel SLR camera. A Thousand Oaks Optical Type 2+ solar filter was used.
